ABSTRACT
This descriptive research study aimed to look into the types of research done in the graduate school of the university in the last five years, from 2007-2012, the range of topics and themes investigated, as well as the methods that were used to gather data. Moreover, it looked into how these different researches are contributing to the fulfillment of the university’s mission, vision and goals as well as how these are translated into its deeper involvement and immersion in the community. This was done through looking into the university’s vision, mission and goals and then comparing them to the objectives, as well as the possible contributions of each research. This study also serves as data base of researches undertaken in the graduate school of the university to help future research avoid redundant themes and topics. The different graduate schools of Ateneo de Davao University served as the locale of this study. The Graduate Schools such as that of the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Governance, School of Education, College of Engineering and Architecture and College of Nursing.It was recommended that different schools in this university must agree on what format to follow in writing theses and dissertations. Updated list on research studies should also be made every semester with a common checklist to make certain that themes are in relation to the VMG of the University. This is in keeping with the purpose of this study which is to serve as a data base of researches.
