ABSTRACT
This research is an attempt to present glimpses of significant historical events that constitute the institutional memory of the Ateneo de Davao University midway in its 6th decade of existence since its founding in 1948. Glimpses of the university’s history are drawn from the rich narrative sharings of identified respondents representing various eras in the life of the institution traversing several generations. This qualitative research sifts through a multitude of data as seen through and gathered from identified persons and their personal recollections of defining events, the university’s shifting physical structures/infrastructures, the observance of community celebrations and rituals, as well as the evolving programs that are testaments to the university’s growth as one of the leading educational institutions in higher education in this region of Mindanao. Likewise, this research also presents the major influences of various institutional leaderships in the development and growth of the university through the years.
