ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to know the perception of the Ateneo high school students towards History subjects. All the 353 fourth year high school students enrolled in Economics subject within school year 2011- 2012 participated in the study. It is a descriptive study using qualitative and quantitative approaches. A self-administered questionnaire prepared by the researchers was used. Data were described in frequency and percentage. Findings revealed that the respondents had high level of interest in Philippine History, Asian History and World History with World History as the most preferred subject. There was no difference in the level of interest between male and female respondents in Philippine History but there was a significant difference in Asian History and World History. It was a recommended that administrative support be given to both teachers and students for more preparation and exposure to real-life situations.
